They maintain our yard year round and it has never looked better. Same two-man crew every visit.Phil Ledford

The stone and the sprout are married. Literally.
Ben Whitfield spent his twenties building patios and walls for a big commercial outfit. Laurel managed a garden center and drew planting plans for customers on the backs of receipts. They met over a pallet of hostas in 2011.
Stone & Sprout opened in 2013 with one truck and a simple split: he builds the bones, she designs the living parts. Thirteen years and 320 projects later the crew is nine strong, but every design still starts at Laurel's drafting table and every wall still gets checked by Ben's level.
We are based on Whitehall Road in Anderson and spend our days across Anderson County and the Lake Hartwell side of the Upstate.
Two names on the truck.
Ben Whitfield
Runs the build crew and personally lays out every patio, wall, and walkway. Ben's rule: if water cannot drain and base is not compacted, we have not started yet. He would rather lose a bid than skip the gravel.
Laurel Whitfield
Designs every project and chooses every plant. Laurel thinks in seasons: what blooms in March, what carries July heat, what still looks alive in January. Her drawings are the contract; the yard has to match them.
What our customers say.

Professional, on schedule, and they left the site cleaner than they found it every single day.Jason Trammell

Free design consults across the Anderson area. Worst case, you get free advice from two people who argue about plants at dinner.
